Meet the Staff!

Suntino “Sunny” Soldano

When Sunny purchased his first Vespa at the tender age of 15, his dad John (another long-time Barber’s customer) steered him toward our shop to have Frank Tash help him with the scooter. Sunny’s love for two and four-wheeled Italian vehicles has grown into what can only be described as a sickness.

Sunny was recruited in 2003 from the old Vespa Haus scooter shop. Over the years sunny has owned and restores a number of vintage vehicles and as a result became well-versed in the mechanical arts. He has continued to educate himself in the art and science of fixing cars, as all professional mechanics must do. When we decided to become a scooter dealership, Sunny was instrumental in guiding us through the process.

Sunny is a member of the Burgundy Topz, Sacramento’s premier scooter club. (The Topz have been very supportive of our shop and have been involved in putting on our annual Open House for the past few years.) Sunny can be spotted zipping around town on his ’73 Moto Guzzi V7 Sport or one of his many vintage Vespas or Ducatis.

As a dedicated Italofile, it didn’t take long for Sunny to fall in love with Alfa Romeo cars, and a purchase of a 1971 GTV from one of our customers. After a few years on the road and participating in several Alpine 500 events, the GTV is currently undergoing a mild restoration and will be updated with a late-model Twin Spark engine to satisfy the need for speed.
